Advanced ITIL for the IT Professional
Chapter 2 - Identifying Key Personnel

Once you have decided your approach, you need to identify the key personnel within the organization. This will give you structure and help you to identify the key persons at the Strategic, Tactical, and Operational level. To begin, you’ll need to create a blank form using Figure 1as the template, and then enter in the appropriate boxes the key names from the echelon or level that you have chosen.

It is possible that you may decide to sell ITIL on different levels. To avoid confusing the levels and the concept that you wish to sell, first prepare and complete a separate form for each level or echelon, trying not to mix names in one diagram. Once you have completed the forms, look for connections and hierarchy. A tip in rolling out your campaign is to decide which option will be your primary path, so that if you are short of time and resources you can follow the path of highest return.
